I. Overview
Working Principle of DHX High Voltage Phase Detector
RA=RA′ are fixed resistors for the phase detection rod. The fixed resistors Ra=Ra′, adjustable resistors r and r′, and microammeter Ig are assembled into a phase detector. According to the generalized AC bridge principle, when UA=UA′, adjusting r and r′ can balance the bridge, i.e., Xg=0. At this time, the voltage amplitude and potential at the two measured terminals are equal. If the potentials at the two terminals are the same but the amplitudes are not completely equal, adjusting r and r′ can still balance the bridge. Only when the phases of the two terminals are different, adjusting r and r′ cannot balance the bridge, i.e., Ig=0. At this time, the voltages at the two measured terminals are not in the same phase.
Conclusion
1. The DHX phase detector is used for phase verification of high-voltage power lines under operating voltage. It is a live testing tool. In particular, the phase detection rod that directly contacts high voltage has undergone high power frequency withstand voltage tests. The results show that its insulation performance and safety distance meet the requirements of electrical safety regulations. From the simulation of the voltage at both ends, for the same-named phase voltage with a large phase difference of 30° (such as lines after long-distance transmission), although adjusting r and r′ resistors cannot completely balance the bridge, compared with the Ig values measured for other two different-named phases, the difference between them is 2 to 3 times, and the different phases of the three phases can still be distinguished.
3. After long-term practical use by relevant power supply bureaus, it is generally reported that the instrument is safe, reliable, easy to use, has high phase discrimination ability, and is portable.
4. After certain high-voltage calibration, the instrument can also be used for measuring high voltage.
